We are starting a new Alltel project at Pilot Peak. Pilot This site is a major repeater hub for two major Alltel
corridors in Nevada. This is involving reconfiguring all the microwave & waveguide installations performed by
past contractors. Many of the photos will show some of the poor installation of the antennas, waveguide and
stiffarms. Tower is a Rohn SSMW 150'. Elevation AMSL is 9200'.
The rebuild. New photos will be downloaded as the project progresses.
New vertical tieback steel in
place for the stiffarms. Each
antenna will receive two of
these one on each side.
These will also serve as an
anchoring system for the
new ice shield lateral
supports. 8 Apr. 2008

wiring. This existing Pirod shield
was removed. New shield guys will
be 3/8" EHS w/ preforms, thimbles,
turnbuckles & Right: One of the
new Rohn TMT4XH tiebacks in
place. These will provide support
for the stiffarms & guy wire anchor
points for the new ice shields.

The old 6"x6"x18' & 6"x6"x22' tieback steel were removed. We installed mini ice bridging to help support & protect the
waveguide from the W/G ladder out to the antennas as well as adding additional support.
